Hey guys, my name is Pikachu and this will be my eleventh summer attending YCB as a camper, sdp, or staff member. I can honestly say that my favorite part of every year is driving down the camp road. There are so many wonderful memories I have made at camp and many of my best friends I met at camp. The staff members are some of the most encouraging and accepting people in my life. I know that the people I meet at camp will always be there for me no matter what is happening or how long we have gone without talking. One of my favorite things about being a camp counselor is getting to talk to the different kids and listening to the things that make their faces light up. No matter what is going on that day, talking to my campers always puts a smile on my face, which makes me want to ensure that the kids are enjoying themselves above all else.
I always looked up to my counselors when I was a child and want to be a positive role model for my campers helping them to grow in their self confidence and the various core values camp focuses on. The core values are caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, inclusiveness, and dedication. Because of this the safety of my campers is my top priority while also having the best time we possibly can together. A couple of my favorite memories I have had with cabins over the years include paint fights, signing our names in spray paint on "the wall" tubing, slip n slide down our cabin porch, and playing with Badger's and Texas's kittens.
