High Ropes Course

Our High Ropes Course is one of the ropes activities that we offer our teens during our overnight summer camp. It's a great activity to build up their confidence, step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves. The rope course starts with ground school where the campers are shown how to use their "Y-tails" and learn how to call out the commands when transferring to the different elements.

The climber is ready to begin climbing once they are attached to the rope, or what we call "on belay". They first element they accomplish is the cargo net, followed by the double beam walk, island hops, grapevine walk, bottomless Burma bridge and the grand finale is the zip-line!

Not everyone that comes to YMCA Camp Benson gets to challenge themselves on this adventurous course but the ones that do, love it!
